After shooting an opening round six-over 78 at the Corales Puntacana and Resort Championship in the Dominican Republic, Weyburn’s Graham DeLaet came back with a vengeance in his second round on Friday.
DeLaet had nine birdies and one bogey en route to a 64 to leave him at two under after 36 holes. That score will likely get him into weekend play as the cut line is at 2 under. It is also the lowest score posted at the event so far this weekend.
After missing the last two years due to back problems, this is the second tournament for DeLaet as he tries to retain his status on the PGA Tour.
He returns on a major medical exemption, and has 24 tournaments to earn 266 FedEx Cup points to retain his status.
