A Regina man faces a number of charges including assault with a weapon and uttering threats after a domestic-related assault and investigation on the weekend.
Regina Police say their investigation started Friday after a report of an alleged assault the night before at a business on the 5800 block of Rochdale Boulevard in the city’s northwest end where a man and a woman, who are known to each other, got into his truck where another alleged assault occurred.
Police then received a report that the same suspect had allegedly threatened the same victim with a firearm before leaving in his vehicle on Friday. Police found the suspect vehicle and tried stopping it with a spike belt, but they failed to do so.
Police finally managed to locate the suspect and the firearm believed to have been used on Sunday night with the 27-year-old being peacefully taken into custody at that time.
The man’s name is not being released because to prevent identifying the person who was assaulted because of the domestic relationship.
