The New Jersey Devils strengthened their defence Thursday night as they acquired White City’s Ryan Murray from the Columbus Blue Jackets. In exchange, the Blue Jackets get a 5th round pick in the 2021 draft.
The 27-year-old Murray scored two goals and seven assists with four penalty minutes in 27 games last season with the Blue Jackets, while averaging nearly 20 minutes of ice time. In the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs, he added one goal in nine contests.
Murray was the 2nd pick overall in the 2012 NHL entry draft and had spent his entire career with the Blue Jackets.
