Residents of Marengo, SK have been evacuated after a large fire at a grain elevator overnight. The surrounding RM of Milton has been placed under a state of emergency.

The Kindersley Fire Department responded to the fire around 11:00 pm Thursday night. The Eatonia, Kerrobert, and Oyen Fire Departments were also present.

SaskPower had tweeted that power is out in the community and crews are working to restore it today. It says they do not have an estimation for when power will be restored.

Fire crews were still on the scene Friday morning. A Facebook post from the village said they would have an update this afternoon.
