A Regina man is facing assault charges after endangering the life of a one-year-old girl.
The charges come after an investigation by the Regina Children’s Justice Centre. The investigation began on October 7th, when patrol members were dispatched at 5:24 pm to a report that EMS was transporting a critically injured, one-year-old girl to hospital. EMS believed that the child’s injuries were the result of physical abuse.
Once at the hospital, the child received medical treatment, which is ongoing. Although the investigation is still ongoing, investigators believe there was enough evidence to charge a man, who is not related to the victim, but lives in the same residence.
20-year-old Bailey Carter Lance Peepeetch has been charged with aggravated assault. He made his first court appearance Thursday afternoon.
