Wheat Growers Convention falls victim to COVID-19

Another farm event in Regina has fallen victim to the coronavirus.

The Western Wheat Growers convention, set for November 24th and 25th in Regina, has been cancelled.

The executive director of the Wheat Growers, Dave Quist, says there will be some webinars offered as an alternative to the convention.

“In lieu of the convention not being available for us this particular year, we are planning to do some of the topics and speakers we had proposed at the convention, for future webinars as well,” said Quist. “So, topics that are timely in terms of policy, advocacy, updates for people, discussion points.”

The Wheat Growers are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the organization and have released a book covering the last 25 years.

The book is called Warriors for Wheat.
