A 20-year-old man from Estevan is facing child pornography charges after a search warrant was conducted on Thursday, October 22.
The investigation began in September 2020 after complaints were received that the individual was sharing child pornography through a social media app.
Members of the Saskatchewan ICE Unit and Estevan Police Service executed the search warrant at a residence in Estevan where the offences were happening. Investigators found child pornography on two mobile phones which were seized for further forensic analysis.
The 20 year old was arrested at the home and has been charged with possession of child pornography and transmitting child pornography.
He was held in custody for a brief time before his release from a Justice of the Peace on numerous conditions. The individual will appear in Estevan court on the morning of December 7.
