In September of 2011, the clubhouse at Aspen Links Country Club in Emerald Park was destroyed by fire. It has taken longer than it should have, but a replacement is finally being built.
Mark Smith with Eagle Developments, is going to build and operate the facility. He says it will be more than a clubhouse.
“A restaurant and a lounge, you don’t have to be a golfer to come and enjoy that,” said Smith. “We’re going to have virtual golf games, and other arcade games and pool tables so it’s somewhat of a game room or a rec room.”
Besides that, there will also be a daycare that has been licensed for over 80 kids. He says this will not only serve well for golfers, but for the communities of White City, Emerald Park and Balgonie.
A completion date has not been determined yet.
