Former Rider Jeff Knox Jr. facing attempted homicide charges

A Pittsburgh newspaper is reporting former Saskatchewan Roughriders linebacker Jeff Knox Junior is in trouble with the law.

“The Pittsburgh Post Gazette” says Knox, who was the Riders outstanding player nominee in 2015, faces multiple charges including two counts of attempted homicide, two counts of aggravated assault and a firearms violation after two men were shot and taken to hospital October 23.  One of the two men shot is reported to be in critical, but stable condition while the other is listed in stable condition.

Knox has bounced back and forth between the CFL and NFL since leaving the Riders after the 2016 season.  He is currently a member of the Toronto Argonauts.  The team released a statement Sunday afternoon saying they are “well aware of the charges” and “take these matters seriously,” but have not yet determined how to proceed.
