Sask. Stock Growers launch annual Beef Drive for food banks

The Saskatchewan Stock Growers Association has launched its annual beef drive for Food Banks across this province.

General Manager Chad MacPherson says this years goal is to donate 10,000 pounds of ground beef to the 32 food banks in Saskatchewan.

MacPherson says producers launched the initiative to give back to those in need of nutritious, high quality food.

MacPherson adds Cargill Animal Nutrition is again a major sponsor of the Beef Drive, and will match donations dollar for dollar up to $5,000.

MacPherson says the Stock Growers have donated over 31,000 pounds of ground beef during the past four years, worth $145,000.
