$2800 ticket issued to Regina woman after 50-person house party

Regina Police say a 22 year-old woman faces a $2,800 fine for having a gathering with about 50 people in attendance on Saturday night, leading into Sunday morning.

Police received the call Sunday morning at about 1:00 AM. The gathering took place in the Uplands neighbourhood near 12th Ave. North and Sturdy Street. Upon arrival, they observed roughly 30 people running from the scene to a nearby park. Police returned to the scene Thursday to issue the ticket.

Police will not be releasing the individual’s name, but encourages Regina residents to become familiar with the new public health orders being enforced Friday.

Household gathering sizes are reducing to 10 today in an effort to limit the spread of COVID-19.
