The two Canadian railways are setting new records for grain shipments.
CP Rail set a new company record of 3 million tons of grain shipped in October, and CN set a railway record of 3.27 million tons moved to port last month.
The chair of SaskWheat, Brett Halstead of Nokomis, welcomes the news but says the railways must not back off in grain movement.
CN says its record performance in October follows on 7 consecutive record months of grain shipments this year.
