While Regina and much of southern Saskatchewan enjoys one last gasp of summer like weather before a major shift this weekend, those further north are already seeing winter like conditions.
Freezing Rain Warnings are in effect from Meadow Lake moving east including Prince Albert, Melfort, Nipawin, Tisdale and Hudson Bay.
The threat of freezing rain will diminish from west to east, with most rainfall gone by midday Thursday.
A little further north, for those in La Loche, Waskesiu and La Ronge, snowfall totals are expected to be in the 10 to 20 cm range.
Environment Canada says snowfall will persist for much of the day Thursday and begin to taper off by evening.
Roads and highways are expected to deteriorate throughout the day, with updates being posted on the Highway Hotline.
