A change.org page has been set up for 21-year-old woman who was hit and killed by a City of Regina excavator Wednesday morning on Albert Street near Save-On-Foods.

The petition states that the area where the accident occurred is notoriously dangerous.

Natasha Fritzke started the page with the goal of receiving 1,500 virtual signatures, as of Friday morning is was already at more than 1,400.

“I am asking the City of Regina to put up a lighted pedestrian crosswalk at this location. I hope that everyone who knew Gracie, and even those who didn’t know her, can try to help me and her family get some closure through accomplishing this,” Fritzke said on the page.

Multiple other online petitions have been created as well, including one with close to 6,000 virtual signatures.
