A male youth is facing impaired driving charges after an incident Friday night.
At around 10:37 pm, Moose Jaw Police received a report of an impaired driver, the area was searched, and the vehicle was not located.
While police were dealing with an unrelated incident shortly after the initial call, the vehicle drove west on the 0 block of Caribou Street East and was driving on the front rim.
Police found the vehicle on the 900 block of 9th Avenue Northwest after it collided with a fence.
The lone male driver was arrested for impaired driving. When police tried to place the suspect in the back of the police car, he attempted to flee. He also threatened officers.
Damage to the vehicle was consistent with having been in an accident. Police located the scene of the accident on the 400 block of Athabasca Street East, where two parked cars were hit.
The suspect could not be named in accordance of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, but he has been charged with failure to comply with breath demand, impaired driving, resisting arrest, uttering threats, and failure to remain at the scene of an accident.
Damage caused is estimated to cost $20,000
