Regina woman arrested after Wednesday night incident.

A Regina woman is facing charges after an incident involving a stolen Ford Escape on Wednesday.

At around 6:20 pm, an RPS Officer working in plainclothes spotted a vehicle that had been reported stolen on November 16th. The red Ford Escape stopped in the area of Avonhurst and Albert Street, then carried on.

Officers were able to keep the vehicle under surveillance and another officer attempted to deploy a spike belt on McKinley Avenue, just west of Elphinstone Street, but it was unsuccessful.

The vehicle swerved around the spike belt and continued until it was abandoned in the west alley of Connaught Street. Police believe the driver ran away from the vehicle. A woman, believed to be the passenger, was arrested at the scene and charged. The other suspect has not been located.

33-year-old Erin Ashley Cote has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. Cote was released on agreement to appear in court on January 4th, 2021.
