Riders get quirky comeback for 2021

The Riders schedule for the 2021 is out, and it has some unusual features.

They will open the season in Edmonton on Saturday, June 12. The home opener follows the next Saturday, June 19, vs. Ottawa.

The Riders will play just once on Thursday night–the host the Stampeders on Canada Day.

The schedule also includes several home-and-home series. The Riders will play home-and-home with the Stampeders in weeks 3 & 4, then Edmonton in weeks 6 & 7 before the traditional Labour Day/Banjo Bowl with Winnipeg in weeks 13 & 14.

In an effort to limit travel, the Riders won’t visit every stadium in the CFL. They will not play at Hamilton in the 2021 season unless it is on Grey Cup Sunday. They will play the Ticats just once: Saturday, August 14 at Mosaic.
