The Regina Police Service is investigating a taxi cab robbery that happened on Sunday afternoon on the 1200 block of Retallack Street.
Officers received the report at around 12:50 p.m. of a taxi driver that was robbed at knifepoint.
The victim was called to a business on the 2000 block of Broad Street where he picked up a customer. While on his way to a home on the 1200 block of Retallack Street, the passenger demanded the driver to stop the vehicle when he grabbed the driver and threatened him with a knife.
The cab driver managed to free himself and run from the vehicle to call for help. The suspect stole the driver’s cell phone and a bag with the driver’s belongings and cash.
Officers were unable to find the suspect, but video footage obtained through the investigation indicates the suspect is a man in his early 20s with shoulder-length, dark, wavy hair. He was wearing a red jacket, black hat and red shoes during the offence.
