North Battleford RCMP make major drug bust after two warrants executed

RCMP in North Battleford executed two search warrants in the early morning hours of Saturday, Nov. 21 that led to multiple seizures of drugs and weapons in the North Battleford region. Saskatchewan’s RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT), North Battleford Provincial General Investigation Section and Police Dog Services also assisted in the execution of these search warrants.

The first warrant was issued at 4:00 AM Saturday morning. ERT entered the residence without incident and were able to assist in the seizure of several items, including one firearm, ammunition, brass knuckles, a knife ,about three grams of a substance believed to be crystal meth, and roughly $500 in cash. Six suspects, three women and three men, were initially taken into custody for questioning, but three were released without incident.

44 year-old Sheldon Johnstone and 27 year-old Blake Johnstone face five and eight charges respectively connected to this matter, while 18 year-old Sierra Stone faces charges for an outstanding warrant for previous firearms offences and other incidents.

Immediately after at about 5:45 AM, RCMP issued a second search warrant for a suspected handgun and ammunition possession on the 10,000 block of Scott Drive.

A search of the residence located 9.8 lbs of prepackaged cocaine, about 350 grams of marijuana, a firearm with two loaded magazines and over $25,000 in cash.

While four suspects were initially arrested, two were released without charges.

22 year-old Kage Pooyak and 22 year-old Tehina Nahbexie, both from Nortth Battleford, both face five charges, including possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition and possession of property obtained by crime.

North Battleford RCMP say these two incidents are not believed to be related in any way.
