Regina Police have announced an update to the historic missing persons case they believe they cracked last weekend.

Patrick Thauberger was last seen on September 3rd, 1997, but now Regina Police and the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service have located and recovered human remains believed to be Thauberger’s. The family has been notified of this development.

Police arrested 78-year-old Joseph Thauberger on Sunday, and charged him with first degree murder, indignity to a body and uttering threats to an adult woman between 1997 and 2014.

The investigation continues.
