RCSD not taking lead of Regina Public Schools at this time with switch to remote learning

Regina Public Schools will see kids learning remotely for the last week of the year prior to the Christmas break and for the first week following the break meaning in-class sessions won’t resume until January 11.

Regina’s Separate School Division isn’t ready to make that declaration though.

Spokesperson Twylla West says it is classes as usual at this time.

‘We are committed to providing the best and safest possible  education to our students.” West said. “If that involves moving to a different stage in our return-to-school plan, than we will share it with our stakeholders, but as of right now we do not have any news to share.

West understands there will likely be pressure to do what the public school division has done and that they are facing the same challenges as their counterparts, but right now there is no change meaning classes will continue at respective schools until December 18th with kids returning on January 4.
