Two men charged after weapons investigation in St. Brieux

On Tuesday afternoon, around 1:30 pm, several detachments of the Saskatchewan RCMP executed two search warrants in the town of St. Brieux, as part of an illegal firearms investigation.

During the searches, firearms, weapons, methamphetamine and numerous stolen items were found. Two men and two women were arrested without incident.

49-year-old Blake Gaillard, from St. Brieux, has been charged with the careless use of a firearm, possession of a firearm when prohibited, possession of a firearm with a tampered serial number, 4 counts of possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order, 3 counts of possession of property obtained by crime, and possession of methamphetamine.

46-year-old Barkley Swenson, from St. Brieux has been charged with 2 counts of possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order, 2 counts of property obtained by crime, and possession of methamphetamine.

The two women were released without charges. The investigation is ongoing.

Gaillard and Swenson made their first appearance in court on Wednesday and will stay in custody until their next appearance on December 14th.
