Agribition mentorship program obtains additional government funding

Saskatchewan Agriculture minister David Marit says 200 thousand dollars in federal-provincial support is being provided to the Next Gen Agriculture Mentorship program.

Marit says the program is administered by Canadian Western Agribition and the renewed funding will take the program into 2023.

He says the additional funding will support 16 mentorships over the next 2 years.

Each mentorship runs about 18 months and is designed to help young people interested in agriculture develop leadership skills.

The program pairs each successful applicant iwth an established member of the agriculture industry.
