A memo that was reportedly written by the Saskatchewan Health Authority suggesting staff who refuse to be immunized for COVID-19 will be fined $10,000 is false.
The SHA went to Twitter to say the memo, which uses a modified version of their official logo, is not from them and that falsifying a document about public health policy at this time is not a joke.
The fake memo came out just a day after the province unveiled its vaccination campaign. Getting vaccinated is not mandatory, but Premier Scott Moe did encourage everyone to get one for not only their safety, but the safety of their friends and families. .
The first vaccinations are expected to happen next week.
