A 16-year-old boy made his first court appearance on Monday afternoon after a search warrant at a Regina residence by Regina police resulted in a number of firearm charges.
The search warrant was executed early Monday morning at a home on the 4200 block of 4th Avenue stemming from an investigation into firearms in the city. Members of the Regina Police Service’s patrol, canine, and property crime units were part of the team that conducted the search.
Police were able to locate two guns, firearms components ammunition and a large bladed weapon.
The 16 year old, who cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, faces a total of seven charges including two counts of careless storage of a firearm and two counts of possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order.
