A key piece to the Roughriders’ secondary has re-signed with the organization.

American defensive back Ed Gainey has inked a one-year contract extension with the Riders.

Gainey played in every single game for Saskatchewan in 2019 when he collected a career-high 56 defensive tackles and two interceptions.

In over eight CFL seasons, Gainey has 114 career games and 272 defensive tackles, 34 special teams tackles, one sack, 20 interceptions, four touchdowns and four forced fumbles.
