Saskatoon-based WGRF provides support for northern Alberta farm research

The Saskatoon-based Western Grains Research Foundation has announced 300 thousand dollars for construction of an agronomy centre in Northern Alberta.

Board chair Keith Degenhardt says the multi-use building will broaden the scope of farm research and extension programs at the Mackenzie Applied Research Association.

The facility will be located at Fort Vermilion, the most northerly agriculture region in Canada, and one of the last areas of large-scale agriculture expansion in Alberta.

The 300 thousand dollar support from the Western Grains Research Foundation is matched by local producer contributions.
