The Western Hockey League has received government approval to play a modified season in Alberta.
The league has announced that its five clubs based in the province, the Red Deer Rebels, Edmonton Oil Kings, Lethbridge Hurricanes, Medicine Hat Tigers and Calgary Hitmen, will form a Central Division and play a 24 game season in Alberta, starting February 26th.
The Western Hockey League has been granted approval to return to play in Alberta.

The league added that it’s still working to get approval for its clubs in Saskatchewan, as well as Manitoba and B.C., and for a U.S. Division which features five teams.
