A 28-year-old Regina man is facing charges after trying to evade police early Friday morning.

In a release from Regina Police, they say officers on regular patrol duties noticed a vehicle driving erratically in the area of Dewdney and Retallack.  Officers tried stopping the vehicle at 7th Avenue and McIntosh Street, but the driver evaded police.

Other units, including canine, were brought in with the vehicle eventually coming to a stop. The driver tried to flee on foot, but he was taken into custody without incident.

Jonathan Anaquod was released on an undertaking and will be in court in July.
