With Saskatchewan still firmly in the grips of a polar vortex, a natural gas usage record has been set for the second time this week.
SaskEnergy said 1.59 petajoules was set from 9 a.m Thursday to 9 a.m Friday breaking the old record of 1.57 petajoules set Tuesday.
It is the eighth straight winter where a usage record has been set with SaskEnergy saying record-setting natural gas usage is happening because of residential, business and industrial customer growth and that its pipeline system is designed to accomodate the increased growth.
