COVID-19 outbreak at Yorkton Health Centre slowing down

The COVID-19 outbreak at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre, appears to be slowing down.

Janna-Lea Yawney is the Interim Director of Acute Care for the Yorkton area, and says there are 97 cases connected to the outbreak, slightly up from 90 last week.

“14 of those are patients, 45 are secondary cases, 32 are staff, and 6 are visitors,” said Yawney.

Yawney says the two suspected outbreaks at the 2nd West Obstetrics and 2nd South Pediatric and Medicine Units have been lifted, since no additional cases have been linked to those areas.

She also says the declared outbreaks in the 1st East and West Medical Units and the Intensive Care Unit continue to show no further transmission of COVID-19.
