A new survey from Farm Credit Canada says Canadians are more likely to look for Canadian food in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Marty Seymour is the Director of Industry Relations at FCC in Regina.
He says the survey was done in preparation for Canada’s agriculture day next week, February 23rd.
Seymour says the survey covered 2 thousand Canadians and found 6 in 10 Canadians are more likely to buy made in Canada food products.
Seymour adds the survey found 8 in 10 Canadians believe the agriculture sector has responded well to the pandemic.
And it looks like most Canadians believe farmers are under appreciated as well.
Seymour says 82 percent are interested in more details on how their food is produced and he encourages farmers to show Canadians their farm on social media on February 23rd.
