A 34-year-old Swift Current woman faces a charge of second-degree murder and attempted murder after a suspicious death in that city Friday.

Roxanne Poundmaker was charged after the death of Chastity Poundmaker and the attempted murder of Lucinda Poundmaker.

Late Thursday night, RCMP got a report of a injured woman seeking help at an apartment building on the 200 block of 7th Avenue Northwest.  The woman was taken to hospital with injuries described as serious.  While there, she told police there was a second injured woman.  That woman was found dead in an apartment on the 600 block of Chaplin Street.

Roxanne Poundmaker will make her first appearance in Swift Current Provincial Court on Monday.
