The Saskatchewan government says spring road bans will be in effect on 12:01 am Monday morning across southern Saskatchewan.
The ministry of highways says the spring road bans will also be in effect in many rural municipalities in southern Saskatchewan Monday.
Spring road bans are designed to protect roads and infrastructure during the thawing period when roads are in a vulnerable state.
Road bans reduce allowable weights on RM roads and secondary weight highways by 10 to 15 percent.
Typically, road bans are imposed in late March or early April after winter weight restrictions have been lifted.
As spring road bans are enacted Monday, winter weights for the rest of the province will be removed.
Truckers are urged to contact the highways ministry for any questions or concerns about spring road bans.
