Monday is national Change Your Password Day

Saskatchewan residents are being advised to change their computer passwords Monday, on national “Change Your Password Day”.

Better Business Bureau of Saskatchewan CEO Karen Smith, said she recommends changing passwords twice a year.

“We often encourage people to change their passwords once in the spring and again in the fall,” she said. “It’s around the same time you’re supposed to be changing your batteries in your smoke alarms, so it’s familiar to you,” Smith added.

Smith said changing passwords protect people from scams and stolen identity.
