The search for 15-year-old Jaxon MacDonald has ended in tragedy.

MacDonald, who went missing at roughly 12:30 AM on Sunday, has been located dead on an island on Madge Lake on Tuesday, just before noon.

The lake itself is located in Duck Mountain Provincial Park, where he was last seen leaving a cabin in the Jubilee Subdivision,

The family of Jaxon MacDonald had previously offered a $100,000 reward for any information regarding his whereabouts.

The Saskatchewan RCMP has expressed condolences to the family of MacDonald, and has since thanked the public for their assistance in the case.

The investigation is still ongoing.
