Regina police arrest second suspect in convenience store robbery

Regina police have charged a second person involved in a robbery that happened March 22 at a convenience store east of downtown.

Officers arrested 37-year-old Shawn Lyle Geddes, a resident of the Fort Qu’Appelle district, on April 6 after continued investigation into the incident. He faces a number of charges including robbery, aggravated assault and carrying a concealed weapon.

Police were called just before 9:30 a.m. to a weapons offence and robbery on the 1200 block of 14th Avenue. A woman was assaulted during the incident and was taken to hospital by paramedics.

A male youth was arrested by officers at the scene. A knife and an imitation firearm were seized during the investigation.

Geddes made his first court appearance on Wednesday afternoon.
