The province set another daily vaccination record after an additional 12,615 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were given in Saskatchewan Friday, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 268,895. The province says 47 percent of people in the province aged 50 or older have now received their first dose. That number will go up as people continue to go through a drive-thru clinic at Evraz Place. That clinic is for those ages 52, 53 and 54 only, but that can change at any time.
There are 236 new cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan, bringing the provincial total to 35,983 cases.
There are no new deaths to report today.
The majority of new cases are once again located in Regina with 91, followed by Saskatoon with 35, and the South East with 30.
There are a total of 33,149 recoveries and 2,381 cases are considered active. Of those active cases, over 1,000 of them are in the Regina region.
192 people are in hospital. 146 people are receiving inpatient care, and 46 people are in intensive care.
The seven-day average of daily new cases is 235 (19.2 new cases per 100,000).
When it comes to variants of concern, the province says 126 new VoC’s have been detected bring the provincial total to 3,212. Regina has the most at 2,253 followed by the southeast zone with 301 and the south central zone with 285.
