The Riders have added four players in Thursday’s Global Draft.
With the 5th-overall pick the 5 Riders took fullback Christopher Ezeala of Germany. He was part of the Baltimore Ravens in 2018-19 through their International Pathways program.
Born in Munich, Ezeala’s been playing football in Germany since he was 13. At 5-11, 248 lbs he was converted to fullback and has played both offense and defence during his career.
At #14 in the Global Draft the Riders select P Kaare Vedvik of Norway (pronouned “Corey”). Vedvik played high school ball in Kansas before going to Marshall. He was first-team all-conference as a punter in 2017.
For the last three seasons he’s been with seven NFL teams, most recently the Bills, Panthers and Washington Football Team. Vedvik kicked for the Ravens in a 2019 pre-season game hitting all four of his field goal attempts–including a 55 yarder.
At #23 the Riders chose K Jon Henry Nell of South Africa. Nell is playing Indoor Football with Green Bay.
With their final pick the Riders chose receiver Sebastien Sagne on Finland. He’s listed at 6’2.5″, 198.8 pounds and has been playing in Germany with the Frankfurt Universe.
