Aneroid, Saskatchewan’s Patrick Marleau plays in 1,767th game, tying record held by Gordie Howe

Saskatchewan’s Patrick Marleau tied an NHL record last night after he played in his 1,767th game.

Marleau, who grew up in Aneroid, about 70 km southeast of Swift Current, tied the late, great Gordie Howe for the accolade.

He is expected to break the record Monday night when his San Jose Sharks take on the Vegas Golden Knights.

Marleau has spent the majority of his 23-year career in San Jose, spending some time in Toronto and Pittsburgh.
