The Regina area continues to see the bulk of new COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan.
Monday’s report show 243 new cases with 82 of them coming from the Regina zone. 907 of the 2,626 active cases in the province come from the Regina zone which is over a third.
The other new cases are located in the Far North West (4), North West (27), North Central (3), Saskatoon (47), Central West (12), Central East (10), South West (9), South Central (17) and South East (22) zones.
There are 200 people in hospital with 43 in the ICU.
As of Sunday, 4,833 variants of concern have been identified with 2,919 of those in the Regina zone. In all, there are 169 new variant of concern cases in Saskatchewan. The 4,833 VoC cases are located in the Far Northwest (35), Far Northeast (two), Northwest (84), North Central (59), Northeast (six), Saskatoon (462), Central West (67), Central East (180), Regina (2,919), Southwest (107), South Central (391) and Southeast (472) zones.
Just over 7,000 vaccines were delivered on Sunday with Saskatoon having the most at 2,670.
The province says half of Saskatchewan residents aged 40 plus have now received their first dose.
