Canadian Western Agribition is reporting a loss of over 773 thousand dollars for 2020, due to the coronavirus.
Despite the postponement of the show, Agribition introduced more than a dozen online programs, including Canada’s first-ever multi-breed virtual cattle show.
CEO Chris Lane says 2020 programs provided marketing and competition opportunities for hundreds of exhibitors and the virtual education program reached more than 14 hundred students.
Lane says the past year will go down in Agribition history as the most difficult.
But he says due to partners, volunteers and the agriculture community, it will also go down as one of the most innovative.
He says a full show, the 50th, will return in November with a full week of rodeo, shopping and livestock competition.
The annual show this fall will be headlined by 12 national breed shows, the only time all breeds have held their national competitions under one roof.
