Sask NDP again pushes for paid sick leave to avoid spread of COVID-19

The NDP is again hammering at the SaskParty government to implement paid sick leave to avoid transmission of Covid-19.

NDP leader Ryan Meili says paid sick leave would save lives by ensuring sick workers stay home and don’t infect others at work.

He is disappointed with the premier’s response, saying it is a critical way of fighting the second wave of the coronavirus.

Premier Scott Moe says Saskatchewan was the first province to introduce the self-isolation support program.

He says it provided 450 dollars to workers to support those who had to stay home from work.

He says Ottawa formed the billion dollar Canada recovery sickness benefit to offer a uniform program across the country and it remains in place.
