SaskPower investing $7-million into its downtown Regina infrastructure

In continuation with their Regina Downtown Improvement Project, SaskPower announced this week, that $7-million worth of work will be done throughout summer to improve reliability in the downtown area.

Some of the work that will be done includes replacing underground cables, switches and duct banks.

Crews will also replace or remove other equipment that is at, or near the end of its life.

SaskPower’s Scott McGregor said some of the work being done will reduce the number of outages and reduce the repair time for others.

McGregor said if crews need to shut off the power while work is being done the best way to find out is on SaskPower’s website or Twitter account.

Since 2012 SaskPower has invested around $45-million into improving and upgrading it’s infrastructure in downtown Regina.
