The NDP is pressing the SaskParty government to deal with fast rising surgical wait times.

Opposition critic Vicki Mowat says almost 30 thousand people are on the surgical waiting list in Saskatchewan.

She says the government failed to contain the second and third waves of the coronavirus.

Health minister Paul Merriman says Covid-19 has created health care challenges around the world.

He says Saskatchewan must deal with the pandemic and ensuring vaccinations are being done.

But he says the province will deal with the surgical wait times as soon as possible.
