The Agri-Food Innovation Centre in Saskatoon is getting a big boost to expand.
Agriculture Minister David Marit says $2.3-million in federal and provincial funding will assist processors to develop new food products from Saskatchewan farms.
Marit says the expansion of the Agri-Food Innovation Centre will create more jobs and a more diversified agricultural economy for Saskatchewan.
The total expansion investment is $7.5-million.
Since opening in 1997, the Food Centre has served over 400 clients and assisted in development of 885 new products.
