2013 Riders heading to Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame

The 2013 Saskatchewan Roughriders that won the Grey Cup at Taylor Field are heading to the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame.

The SSHOF announced their class of 2021 on Thursday.  The group were actually selected in 2020, but COVID-19 meant the induction ceremonies were postponed. A release from the Hall says “they will be officially enshrined at such a time that is appropriate and allows for safe communal gathering while following all provincial health guidelines.

The list of those going in is an impressive one as the Riders are joined in the teams category by the 2000-2001 University of Regina Cougar women’s basketball team that won their first and only national championship.  In the athletes category,  Justin Abdou of Moose Jaw (wrestling), Rod Boll of Fillmore (trapshooting), Colette Bourgonje of Porcupine Plain (track and field; cross-country skiing), Kaylyn Kyle of Saskatoon (soccer) and Lyndon Rush of Humboldt (bobsleigh) are being inducted as is Shannon Miller of Tisdale in the builders category.
