Regina Police alert residents of recent increase in break & enter incidents

After 43 break-and-enters took place in Regina in a seven-day span, Regina Police ask: “What Do Your Doors Say?”

Police say 19 of those break-ins were in garages, and many of those were left unlocked. In some cases, garage openers were visible in the victims vehicle, leading to the break-in.

In order to avoid this taking place over the May Long weekend, police advise residents to take proactive steps, such as ensuring all doors are securely locked, remove garage door openers from cars parked on the driveway or street, and install motion lights by doors and driveways.

Police say they don’t intend to blame victims of recent break-ins, but instead want the community to take proactive steps to avoid the same fate.
