There are reports suggesting BHP is speaking with Nutrien about a potential partnership in the Janzen potash mine.

According to some familiar with the matter, several options are being discussed with one of them seeing Nutrien operate the facility and sell the potash through its existing channels.

The Janzen mine has been one that BHP has struggled with for years. They have spent over $4.5 billion US on the project, but the company has not yet approved construction and has faces shareholder opposition. A final decision on the mine’s future is expected soon from the company.
