Former Swift Current Mayor Denis Perrault has been named the CEO for Habitat for Humanity Saskatchewan.
The organization was formed after affiliates from around Saskatchewan merged together earlier this year.
Perrault said this next step is one he’s looking forward to, adding he’s always been a big supporter of Habitat’s work.
“As many know the company as a whole is there to provide housing for people in Saskatchewan, that’s exciting in itself,” he said. “They’re building homes together with many partners to be able to give homes to deserving families, I love their story,” Perrault said.
Perrault was Swift Current’s mayor for one term, and served on Swift Current’s City Council for a total of 11 years.
He’s also a professional chartered accountant, and attended McMaster University in Ontario, where he received a chartered director designation.
Perrault has served as a Director at Innovation Credit Union and Vice-Chair of SGI Canada’s Board of Directors.
Habitat says he will bring a strong understanding of governance, policy-setting and the value of growing strong partnerships that will drive successful results.
Perrault will continue to be based in Swift Current, where he lives with his wife and son, while regularly traveling to various Habitat Saskatchewan sites around the province.
